The grapes of our wine

Ours is a wine made with the love and simplicity of the past.
We carefully choose the best grapes and select the bunches of our vines,
thus obtaining a healthy wine with an excellent balance between alcohol and acidity.

Barbera grapes

It’s a very versatile grape, if vinified alone can be used for the production of new wines, including sparkling, still wine with a medium body and also for full-bodied red wines aged in wood and intended for prolonged aging. Also used in blends with other varieties which brings alcohol, acidity and often color.

Croatina grapes

This is a kind of native grape, black grape found mainly Oltrepò Pavese and in the Piacenza. The wine produced from this grape has a low tannin content, the result is a wine with a lack of body, but with intense aromas of red fruits.From the grapes of Croatina in purity are obtained ready to drink wines as the Bonarda DOC in the still and sparkling version.

Rara grapes

This vine ripens in early October and is widely present in the Oltrepò Pavese; It has a bright ruby ​​red color without the violet notes typical of Vespolina, the perfume is very complex and you can perceive floral notes of rose, fruity raspberry and cherry. In the mouth it is fresh, slightly tannic with a pleasant fruity aftertaste.

Chardonnay grapes

From these grapes you can obtain still, sparkling or sparkling wines, with high alcohol content and quite high acidity. The color of the wine is not particularly straw-yellow, the scent is characteristic and delicate and fruity (tropical fruit, pineapple in particular), the taste elegant and harmonious. If aged, it takes notes of dried fruit. It is particularly recommended for aging in barrique.

Pinot Nero grapes

Among all the red grape varieties of the world it is considered one of the noblest and at the same time it is the most difficult to interpret; it produces an extremely delicate red wine, which varies considerably from vintage to vintage even in the most suitable positions. Its vinification is complex and perhaps represents the greatest challenge for a winemaker. It is recognized for a very characteristic scent of small red fruits (especially black currant, but also blackberry and raspberry).

Malvasia grapes

Oltrepò Pavese DOC Malvasia can be produced in the Dolce (Sweet) or Secco (Dry) and Sparkling Martinotti method versions. It has a minimum alcohol content of 10% and is consumed young. The Malvasia grape takes its name from the Greek port of Monenvasia where it had come from Asia Minor.

Riesling grapes

It is a vine that not everyone likes right away, but has an undeniable finesse. The penetrating acidity is recognizable in styles ranging from very dry to the sweet richly flavored apple and lime cover peaches and honey character. The wine has a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet is fruity, with hints of peach and apricot.

Cabernet Savignon

It is often used in assembly with Cabernet franc and Merlot, a cut that has taken the name of Bordeaux, where it was introduced. In Italy there are many versions, both in purity and with other red vines. It is able to produce intense wines already in color, rich in tannins and aromatic substances, capable of long aging.
